Eritrea: Living in The Rain of Tears

                     “Time is the greatest teacher,

but unfortunately it kills all of its students.”

                                           Composer Hector Berlioz

Since the end of last week cloud of darkness has loomed on Eritrea.  The long wait had finally arrived.  The long pain of waiting to find the status of their love ones came to its end.  The PFDJ government started telling people about the loss of their loved ones.  It is disturbing to hear masses of mourning in almost every home.  Some families lost more than one and it keeps getting worse.  This time is the saddest and darkest time in Eritrean history.  Stream of tears washed the meager faces of many mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, and nephews, neighbors, and the whole village.  There aren’t words or phrases that can explain this situation.  It is immeasurable.  It is plenty of sadness and non-ending agony and grievances.

Tenth of thousands of youngsters had perished.  Theses were youngsters from different sectors of the society: students, workers, farmers, herdsmen, soldiers, and housekeepers.  They had like any youngster a bright future waiting for them.  They were the future teachers, nurses, engineers, doctors, scientists, farmers, professionals, and heroic nationals.  Their precious life had come to a premature end defending gallantly their beloved country.  Why them?  And could their life have been spared?

Whether the government of PFDJ started the war or the Wayane government declared a war, the nonsense and horrible war could have been avoided before destroying the lives of many youngsters.  As if the people of Eritrea hadn’t bleed enough, PFDJ pursued its war solution agenda ignoring the US/Rwanda proposal.  The lost opportunity cost us our beloved brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, neighbors, and villagers.  And it is tenth of thousands of them.  The loss is huge giving Eritrea’s meager human resource.  The insensitive PFDJ government has little concern of these precious lives.  Their priority was a showdown with Weyane to satisfy their egos. Shame to this hideous government who is waging ruthless crimes on the Eritrean people!

In conclusion, every Eritrean lost their love ones including this writer.  Allow me to pass my condolence to everyone who has been affected by this sad situation.  They have died fighting heroically for what they believed.  May God bless their souls!  Their legacy should be carried by everyone and save the nation from another disaster.  The  PFDJ government is ready to wage another war and sacrifice our precious youngsters.  These resources are irreplaceable.  Gambling with national resource should be over.  This should be everyone’s responsibility to stop PFDJ.  Let’s give our bright youngsters a chance of life.  Let’s stop conflict with neighboring countries and give peace a chance.  Let’s get rid of dictatorship.  The young souls are calling on us.  Let’s stop the rain of tears.

LET THE PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE!
