20th Festival  to Conduct Historic Seminar on

Visions of Our Political Organisations In 

Eritrea of Tomorrow

The Preparatory Committee of the 20th Eritrea Festival in Frankfurt, Germany , is pleased to announce to all participants that, prior to the usual Festival Plenary Session, there shall be a historic Seminar on ‘Eritrea of Tomorrow’.  This special Seminar, scheduled to take place starting in the late morning hours (to be specified) on Saturday, 6 August 2005,  and expected to give enough time to the public to voice its concerns,  shall proceed as follows:

 

·                          Seminar participants shall elect a secretariat that will run the seminar.

·                          Political organisations, parties, movements and civic societies in the Eritrean opposition shall be allowed to present visions of their respective organisations in Eritrea of tomorrow.

·                          Other Special Guest Speakers  shall address the Seminar on: i) the unfulfilled promises of the Eritrean Revolution and the type of alternative our people are looking for after the removal of PFDJ, ii) wrong approaches of resolving contradictions in Eritrean politics,  iii) the articles in the PFDJ constitution that the opposition camp cannot accept and  iv) why the opposition and the regime are not fully supported by our people. .

·                          Members of the public shall have enough time express their views and ask questions about any of the political programmes of the organisations in the Eritrean opposition camp. The proceedings of the Seminar shall be recorded  dissemination to the Eritrean public .

·                          All Seminar participants are advised to read the EDA Charter, the political programmes of opposition organisations as well as the 1952 constitution of Eritrea and the PFDJ-drafted constitution.
