Kalifa called  for peaceful resolution to the border dispute between Eritrea and Ethiopia

Eritrean Centre for Media Services (ECMS)30/3/2005

The chairman of the executive office of the Eritrean democratic alliance Mr Hussien Kalifa has reiterated the need for both Eritrea and Ethiopia to act in accordance to the boundary commission to resolve their border dispute, in a briefing he made yesterday 29 March 2005 while leaving to Addis Ababa.

In the briefing he said the Eritrean president is heading to the war to divert the attention of his people from his internal crisis, misguided by the ruthless hope that that he will get popular support.

Concerning the journey made to the eritreans living in the towns and Refugee camps of  eastern Sudan, Mr. Kalifa said, it was a success especially because it was made on the time when the peoples of Eritrea have given up hope for the effectiveness of Eritrean opposition parties. The Eritrean people asserted to collaborate and back the alliance to get rid of the dictatorial regime in Eritrea.

In respect to the journey to Addis Ababa, Mr. Kalifa said it aims to discus in the issues concerning the foundation of the Alliance, strengthening bilateral relationships and will also argue on regional and international interests. The executive office of the alliance will hold its first meeting in Addis Ababa in the coming few days Mr. Kalifa added.

Delegates that include  Mr. Mengestab Asmorom information officer, Mr. Mouhamed Taher Shengeb organizational affairs officer, Hamed Turkei finance officer will accompany Mr. Kalifa to Addis Ababa the sources said.
