Martyr Seyoum Ogbamichael

A fairly large gathering of family members, old comrades and friends of Martyr Seyoum Ogbamicahel attended today, 5 February 2006, solemn memorial church services in Frankfurt, Germany.

 

The memorial services were organized by Martyr Seyoum’s family who sent invitations to all Eritrean political and civil organizations in Frankfurt as well as to members of the Eritrean community. 

 

Among the participants at the church services were Mr. Mesfin Hagos of EDP; Mr. Abdalla Adem of EPM;  ELF-RC leadership members including Mr. Woldeyesus Ammar; Mr. Assefaw Berhe; Mr. Tesfai Woldemichael (Degiga) and many others.

 

The traditional church services known as “Arba’a (held about 40 days after the sad event) in memory of Martyr Seyoum were conducted in Tigrinia and Geez by two Eritrean priests of the Orthodox Church at St. Mary’s Church in Dreieich, a suburb of Frankfurt where the ELF-RC held its 1st annual Eritrea Festival 21 years ago.

 

Memorial service participants later proceeded to the Eritrea Center located inside metropolitan Frankfurt where food and drinks were served by family members.
