THE STAR
BY
MUSSIE BEKIT
The
star, MR , SEYOUM OGBAMICHAEL, shone so bright
Like an
incandescent light
Who
fought a good fight
To bring
justice and democracy
A new day
for all to see
A star so
brave
He
challenged the roaring wave
And
challenged the snake
To
strangle it by the neck
And cast
him to hell
To never
come back again and wake
He gave
his precious sweat ,blood & morrow
And
sacrificed his future tomorrow
For the
sake of his country fellows
And for
that selfless act
We won’t
remember him in sorrow
We
celebrate his dedication & commitment
And
salute him in singing like the sparrow
May he
enjoy the peace
He wished
for his country
Until we
join him
He will
live in our memory.
(I
dedicated this poem as a concerned individual.)
