Peaceful demonstration in Seattle, WA

On August 4-5 Eritrean community members from Seattle and may be other western states are coming to Seattle, WA for a festival organized by PFDJ, its Embassy its consulate and its supporters.

A festival is a public celebration of great cultural, national or political events. But this “festival” has nothing to do with celebrating national values of our country.

Its sole purpose is to legalise and finance the tyrannical regime of PFDJ. As such all good hearted Eritreans have the national duty to oppose it. The oppressed Eritrean people expect nothing less from us Eritreans residing overseas. 

A simple question, would our people in Eritrea want to celebrate with PFDJ under its brutal repression, torture and gross imprisonment of men and women old and young.

We would like to remind those who are coming to have fun and celebrate.

Of their loved ones rotting in different known and unknown detention canters and they have no right to see their parents, children their spouse or their siblings.

You who are coming to have fun in the festival are forced to pay 50, 000 Nakfa to free your fathers, mothers, siblings or relatives

You are worried and you are sending your hard earned money to bring your sisters, brothers and parents out of the country you are helping them to cross the border of neighbouring countries to escape the torturous and brutal life in Eritrea under PFDJ

Celebrating and dancing in PFDJ organized festivals is to dance with the torturer of ones families.

Those who come in this festival will have fun,

While their parents are detained, tortured and forced out of their homes

While their siblings are dying to escape from the country through dangerous routs

They would be drinking and dancing while their loved once are crying and in great pains inflicted by PFDJ.

Thus genuine Eritreans who believe in democracy, freedom and human rights should boycott this sham “festival”. This is the lowest the oppressed voiceless Eritreans expect from us

To protest the gross & brutal human rights abuse in Eritrea. We, families & friends of the Eritrean victims, call upon all Eritreans in USA to join us on this noble & peaceful demonstration on Saturday August 4-5 from 5-7 PM At Quest field. It is the Seahawks football field in down town Seattle.
