On 25 May 2007, the ELF-RC Office for Youth and Women’s Affairs was pleased to welcome and entertain at a dinner party invited Eritrean youth (men and women) and concerned friends in Khartoum for the inauguration of a new Youth Center at the Diem quarter of the Sudanese capital.

The inauguration party was attended by a large number of youth and guests from the political organizations and the civil society that included distinguished representatives of offices and branches of members of the Eritrean Democratic Party (EDP), the Eritrean National Salvation Front (ENSF), the Eritrean Alnahda Party, the Eritrean Students Union of Sudan, the Suwera Center for Human Rights, the Horn of Africa Research Center, the Eritrean Media Services Center, the Gulf News Agency, the Awna [Ona]website and many Eritrean and Sudanese friends and neighbours of the new Youth Center.

The inauguration of the Youth Center at Diem coincided with the week of celebrations of the 16th anniversary of Eritrean Independence and this turned the inauguration of the club into an exchange of good wishes among friends about the National Day.

Inauguration participants also took the opportunity to commend the ELF-RC office in Khartoum for providing meeting and entertainment centers for the thousands of Eritrean youth in Khartoum. It is to be recalled that the organization runs another big Youth Center in the Jiref part of Khartoum where many Eritreans reside.
