"This Date in Eritrean History"  is a column that will present selected editorials about important dates and events in the Eritrean historical struggle for independence and freedom.  This events and dates are presented in the form of editorials and simply articles from our readers.  "This Date in Eritrean History" will present any important event and date regardless which organization is responsible for the event.  However, we are bound to focus on events carried by ELF since most of the heroic events have been banned from being told by EPDJ.  We would like the Eritrean Youth to know about all the heroic sacrifices paid for by our martyrs and some alive strugglers.  We want them to feel the sense of historical responsibility to be able to accept the handling of our future Eritrea.  It is not merely to impress them.  It is to bring to light heroic deeds by our martyrs and take a learning lesson on honesty, integrity, sacrifice for the good of our people and nation from them and invite them to the full participation in the current political affairs of our nation and start to shoulder the responsibility of shaping the political future of our nation.
