ELF-RC Leadership
To begin with, we would
like to thank all our supporters, visitors and other concerned sectors for
the support and concern they have shown during the last few months where
differences of opinions within ELF-RC file and ranks seem to put the
organization in a political difficulty. Many encouraged us to hang on.
Many urged us to maintain our unity. Many expressed fear that the
opposition will disintegrate or at least become ineffective if ELF-RC does
not maintain its unity and strength.
It is then appropriate
to say thank you to all who showed concern and support. We also say
congratulations to the leadership for taking the wishes of our visitors
and our people into consideration to act with patience, skill and wisdom
to come out unified. We hope those who were wishing our disintegration,
destabilization and had expectation to see a downsized ELF-RC have learned
that their lack of growth is not due to ELF-RC's strength.
We also received some
criticisms in the form of questions as to why we did not post the names of
the members of the executive committee that have been elected or switched
positions. First, we would like to thank those who sent us criticism and
questions. Second, we would like to assure them that it was not intended
to withhold the information from the public. It has not been a customary
practice in ELF-RC to announce the list of members of the leadership. As
a result, we do not even think of posting them. However, we know we have
to change with time and we promise we will do so in the future. Just to
get into the habit of it, we are putting the list below:
- The RC Secretariat:
- Ibrahim Mohammad Ali -
Speaker
- Berhane Kidane - Secretary
- The Executive Committee:
- Seyoum O. Michael -
Chairman
- Ahmed Nasser
- Head of International Affairs Office
- Assefaw Berhe
- Head of Organizational Affairs Office
- Mohammad Ali Ibrahim -
Head of Field Affairs Office
- Dr. Beryene Kidane -
Head of Social Affairs Office
- Mengsteab Asmerom - Head
of Information and Cultural Affairs Office
- Khalifa Osman -
Head of Financial Affairs Office
The office of Unity
Affairs has been abolished. A committee of three members from RC members
is assigned to look into and resolve the issues and concerns of ELF-RC
members in Germany.
Further reportage of the
meeting and information about future plans as well as the organizational
structure of ELF-RC within the scope of checks and balances will be coming
in the near future.
