Europe Joint Coordinating Committee Holds its Fourth Regular Meeting

The Joint Coordinating Committee responsible for coordinating the activities of EDP/EPP unity progress in Europe held its fourth regular meeting in February 15, 2009. The objective of the meeting was to evaluate the joint unity activities covered in the last two months as well as study the remaining challenges that need further actions.

 

In this meeting, the Joint Coordinating Committee reviewed the progress of the joint sessions held by both members in the last two months in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Milano, and England. The committee further scheduled and organized a plan of action to be undertaken in the near future. The committee also noted the understanding and close cooperation of activities between members of both parties in Holland as an important ground in the unity process. In particular, the committee took a note of the members’ comments and suggestions supporting a thorough approach to the unity process as well as a shorter period for the merger of the two parties.

 

In addition, a member of higher Joint Coordinating Body who attended the meeting spoke of the tasks and assignments recently discussed in the Joint Coordinating Body session. The member further broadly discussed plans of the future, plans already in progress, and designation of work assignments. At the end, members of the Joint Coordinating Committee for Europe concluded their fourth regular meeting after making a careful review on their joint tasks, and drawing a future implementation measures that can accelerate the merger progress of the two political parties.
