Nharnet celebrates the 17th
Anniversary Independence of our Eritrea while calling the people to rise
to lift them selves up from the dire oppression under the dictatorial
One Man Rule. It calls on Eritreans in the Diaspora to wake up from
their hypocritical opportunistic sleepy stand and join the voice on
behalf of our besieged people. By now, every one knows the country has
gone to the complete opposite direction of the ideals for which our hero
martyrs gave their lives. No one can argue that the country finds
itself politically, economically and in human justice in an atmosphere
of darkness which dashes the dreams and expectations of our people from
the revolution in which they paid unparalleled sacrifice. Independence
Day should remind the youth that the struggle to reclaim their country
rather than escaping the country is the real solution for their
generation. Our women, the worst off section of our people, especially
those in the Diaspora have a historic responsibility of siding with the
people rather than supporting a dictatorship which has taken the country
rolling down the hill. The children in the country deserve the same
opportunities their children enjoy in various countries abroad and the
people deserve the same rights they enjoy under constitutional democracy
they enjoy in the respective countries they live. Nharnet calls on all
Eritreans and friends of Eritrea to make this day of independence a day
of renewal of commitment for the justice and liberty of our people. |
